In this webinar we are joined by Froebel Trust Travelling Tutors, Paula Lester and Rachna Joshi as they explore our latest pamphlet, Singing with Young Children, authored by Paula, with each speaker sharing their insights and experiences of learning and development in young children with the use of singing and rhymes.

Singing with Young Children with Paula Lester and Rachna Joshi (recorded December 2025)

“It's really important to mention that it’s not at all necessary to be a good singer, all the words are not needed to be known, children just love a song.” – Paula Lester

We were joined by pamphlet author, Paula Lester as she explored how young children can be supported in their learning and development with the use of singing and rhymes. Throughout the webinar, Paula shared practice examples of how singing, music, rhythm and dance can be used to inspire and teach young children.

Educators will also hear how Froebel’s Mother Songs are connected to modern day practice and the songs and rhymes we hear today.

Joining Paula was guest speaker, Rachna Joshi who chaired the webinar and shared her own challenges and reflections from modern practice on embedding a Froebelian approach to teaching children through music and song.

“It's really important to mention that it’s not at all necessary to be a good singer, all the words are not needed to be known, children just love a song.”
