The Froebel Trust is proud to fund a project that supports educators working with Birth to Three.

Early childhood education and care professionals working with very young children will soon have access to a host of resources dedicated specifically to supporting their work with children from birth to three years of age.

The Froebel Trust is investing £100,000 in a programme of work to curate a series of resources designed with educators working with the very youngest members of society in mind.

With a long history of supporting research about babies and very young children, the Trust’s Birth to Three programme will provide a hub of information to support educators and encourage them to reflect on their work with young children. It will bring together existing Trust resources and launch a series of new material to support educators in their practice. Each resource will draw on Froebelian principles to demonstrate how the approach can be used in practice with under threes.

The work is being led by former Froebel Trust bursary doctoral student, Dr Caroline Guard and Dr Julia Manning-Mortong whose book, ‘Birth to Three: An Early Years Educator’s Handbook” was the winner in the Professional Book category at the 2024 Nursery World Awards. Both Dr Guard and Dr Manning-Morton are also part of the Froebel Trust team of tutors.

How can you get involved?

A Birth to Three Research Insight summarising Froebel Trust funded research will be launched this summer. Sign up to the Froebel Trust mailing list to receive a link direct to your inbox.

Ahead of the launch later this year, the Trust is inviting all those working with children aged 0 – 36 months to express their interest in joining a Baby Room Community of Practice Network. If you are an educator currently working with children aged from 0 – 36 months, please complete our expression of interest form.
